Chinese Culture
« on: May 08, 2007, 08:54:02 AM »
Since no one has posted a topic yet I will start one.

Question: Does anyone watch any Chinese drama or listen to Chinese music?

I didn't until a week ago. I recently got into this Chinese boy band and I'm obess with them. All the guys are sooo cute. I swear Taiwanese guys are sooo hot!

I watch the Hana Kimi Live Drama. It's pretty good, I like it a lot. I thought it was stupid to make a drama out of manga at first but after watching it - wow I'm hooked! All the actors fit the character really well. I love the guy that plays Sano - Wu Chun - he's sooo hot and cute!

Hello,

Are you Chinese or just interested in the culture. Is Hanakimi the first drama adaptation you've seen. If so, I highly recommend watch Hana Yori Dango (Japanese Version) and Devil Beside You (Taiwanese Version). There are actually a lot of other manga adaptations made into live action. But these are the ones that I think captured the essence of the manga really well.

Hanakimi is alright. I do think they got the right actors since they fit them (looks wise) but the acting or chemistry (there is none). You should check out D-addicts because they have a lot more dramas that you may like. Or visit my drama section for recommendations.

By the way, what Chinese music bands are you listening to?

I'm not Chinese, I only recently got into Chinese music and drama. I'll definately check out some other Chinese dramas this summer!

Currently I'm obsessed with Fahrenheit - all the guys are sooo hot!!!! I bought their photo notebook and DVD/CD from YesAsia.Com. I love their music! I'm also listening to others such as Jay Chou, S.H.E, Tank.

I've been trying to find some mp3s from Wang Lee Hom - if anyone has them let me know!

Haha, I love Fahrenheit myself. Well, I am Chinese/Taiwanese and I say you have good taste. Though personally I though Hana Kimi sucked, but hey, to each his own. My friend who liked Hanakimi also like Tokyo Juliet which Wu Zun also stars in.

The band Fahrenheit stars in KO One. I rather interesting drama, all the members of the band are in the band. Problem for Wu Chun is his mandarin wasn't great so he isn't on often...

I haven't watched any Taiwanese drama but I do listen to Fahrenheit and S.H.E and Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai, that's about the only Taiwanese music I listen to.

As for Chinese music, I  use to be really into Twins, but I've grown out of them. My opinion also changed of my idol, Gillian Chung after the scandal with Edison Chen tsk tsk tsk......
