Saiunkoku Monogatari Seasons 1 and 2

Ahhh!!! I sooo love this anime!!! It's got just the right amount of the elements that makes an anime addicting to watch!!! Originally, this one's a novel (I've got it) , but it's in Japanese, so I still can't read it....There was also a manga that was started, but the scanlation team's still so far from the anime's storyline.... From what I got from my friend, the novels contains so much more info that was left out from the anime...

Did you know that in the novels,
Spoiler for Hiden:
Senya or Sakujun's still alive? Apparently he was saved by one of the sages... And in the novels, many characters had powers like teleportation and such.....

Ahhh, I wish that the 2nd season will be subbed faster....but then again, I know that the fansubbers also have lives of their own and that they're just doing this project out of the kindness of their hearts....But still......you can't stop one from just wishing, lol.

And another plus in here is that there are sooo many bishies in the anime....Seiran, Ryuuki and others are just so nice to look at....but it's said that the illustrations in the novels are even way better that those in the anime....

Btw, I started this series when I tried to find an anime just like Fushigi Yuugi, where the setting was in Ancient China. Another one like this is called Haru Kanaru Toki no Hachiyo (forgot if that's the whole title, or even the right one)...Although the heroines are very different in characters....in FY and HKTNH, the leading ladies are just relying in their guardians to protect them. In short, the 'damsels in distress type', while in SM, the leading lady is a strong character and is "the type who is needed instead of the one needing somebody else'....

Well, that's all I can say for now.

So, what do you think?

yeah, at times you could say that it's kinda boring, especially that she seems to feel nothing special for any of the guys, so it's like there's no tension or something in that area of the story.....hopefully there might be something more interesting that might pop up in the second season, but then again, this still remains as one of my favorite series...^^ I've got a special place in my heart for this kind of anime (ancient china setting)....
